The Hofstra women's soccer team, after opening the season with a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Boston College, has rattled off 18 wins in a row -- a new school record, and the longest active winning streak in the country.
As a result, Hofstra is ranked in the top 25 nationally for the first time in school history, currently residing at No. 18.
On Friday night, the team defeated Georgia State 3-0 in the semifinals of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament, which is being held at Hofstra. On Sunday, Hofstra will play James Madison with a chance to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament (although Hofstra will probably qualify anyway, even if they lose the championship game.)
