An already good week got even better for Jason Pierre-Paul
Just one day after being named to his first-ever Pro Bowl, the Giants second-year defensive end was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week. It's the second time he has won the award and both have occurred in the past three weeks.
In Saturday's 29-14 win over the Jets, Pierre-Paul had five tackles (four solo tackles), three quarterback hits and two sacks. His first sack helped push the Jets back and attempt a longer field goal, which they ultimately missed. The defensive end previously won the award following his performance against this week's opponent, Dallas, on Dec. 11.
Pierre-Paul is the first player to win the award twice this year and the first New York Giants player to accomplish the feat since Osi Umenyiora in 2007.
