Victor Cruz could add a little salsa to the cheese.
The Giants wide receiver will head with the Giants to Green Bay this weekend as the Giants continue their postseason run after a 24-2 win over the Falcons at MetLife Stadium. It was the first playoff game for the Giants wide receiver, and he felt it.
“Exciting, butterflies, nervousness,” Cruz said. “I’m glad the first one is over so I can finally relax a little bit and with the atmosphere I know what to expect and the next one should be a good one.”
With the Giants more balanced on offense, Cruz wasn’t as big a factor. He had two catches for 28 yards the week after turning down Dancing with the Stars. But the moment after the win in the locker room was nonetheless special.
“It was pretty crazy,” Cruz said. “Everyone was excited and [coach Tom Coughlin] said now we are going up to Green Bay and we understand what mission we have in front of us and we have to take care of that. So, we just have to have another good week of preparation like we did and this next one should be good.”
Cruz said that the Giants can get some confidence from their regular season game, a 38-35 loss to the Packers.
“I think so, maybe a little bit,” Cruz said. “We understand how we played them the first time and how we were a few plays away from winning. We just have to be able to do that again and put forth that same effort that we had against them the first time and potentially it will be a different outcome.”
