According to SNY, here’s the ticker-tape parade count:
Baseball Giants: 1
The Giants have won four Super Bowl championships, but have had only two parades. In 1987, New York City mayor Ed Koch wouldn’t let the Giants have a parade because they moved to New Jersey. In 1991, the Giants didn’t have a parade due to the Gulf War.
• Fans are throwing footballs to the players and having them signed.
• Injured tight ends Travis Beckum and Jake Ballard are both sitting on the same float.
• SNY estimates that 50 tons of shredded paper will fall from the skyscrapers in lower Manhattan.
• Eli Manning, Justin Tuck, Tom Coughlin and Mayor Bloomberg, Jerry Reese, Governor Cuomo and John Mara are on what is probably the most beloved float.
