TE Robinson agrees to terms

The New York Giants reached an agreement with fourth-round pick Adrien Robinson according to a source.

The tight end drafted out of Cincinnati is the first Giants draft pick to agree to terms.

The Giants, who open rookie camp this Friday, are high on Robinson despite the fact that the tight end only had 12 receptions last season. General manager Jerry Reese likened Robinson to the "JPP of tight ends" in reference to the freakishly athletic defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul. The Giants hope that the raw and athletic Robinson will develop into a future star under tight ends coach Mike Pope.

Robinson may be asked to contribute a bit this season with Jake Ballard and Travis Beckum both recovering from ACL surgeries. Ballard is hoping to return at midseason if at all. Beckum is optimistic that he could be ready for the start of the season. Martellus Bennett, Bear Pascoe, Robinson and Christian Hopkins will all have a major opportunity to play this season.
