Steppin' to the A.M.: Talking about practice

Good morning from wet Albany. The Giants open their first practice of the 2012 season with a 40% chance of rain in the forecast when practice is scheduled to begin at 1:30.

So perhaps the Giants could be working indoors today. We'll have to wait and see.

FOR YOUR READING PLEASURE: In case you missed it, Martellus Bennett says he is all business at this pivotal camp for him and is filled with motivation and hate for his opponents this season, including his former Dallas Cowboys teammates.

He also said he has been doing a lot of self-study, so much so that he felt like Gandhi saying that.

Giants also will place Hakeem Nicks, Chris Canty, Clint Sintim and Travis Beckum on the PUP list to start camp. Nothing unexpected. They can come off PUP at any point once ready to practice in camp. Will Beatty is cleared to participate but the Giants will take it slow with his back. We'll see what he does today and update you.

Justin Tuck is feeling healthy again physically and mentally.

Victor Cruz is feeling a bit nostalgic returning to Albany. Things have changed so much since he was last here in 2010.

ROOKIE INITIATION: Today is our first real look at David Wilson and Rueben Randle if the Giants have a full contact practice. We'll give you updates on how the rookies look.
