Phillips and Bradshaw will play and expected to start

New York Giants safety Kenny Phillips (knee) is active and expected to start against the Houston Texans.

Phillips sat out Friday's practice with a sprained MCL in his left knee. Since it is the same knee he underwent season-ending microfracture surgery on last year, Phillips' status for the game was in question. The Giants took it easy with their safety this week, holding him out of Wednesday's practice as well.

The Giants will need Phillips today against the second-ranked offense in the NFL and the top-rated rushing attack.

Also running back Ahmad Bradshaw is active as expected and is slated to start against the Texans. Bradshaw missed Wednesday and Thursday's practices with an ankle injury but he worked on Friday and will play.

Giants tight end Bear Pascoe is starting at fullback with Madison Hedgecock out due to a hamstring injury. Also, linebacker Clint Sintim will start in place of the injured Keith Bulluck (toe).

Wide receiver Ramses Barden is active and will be available to play. Wide receiver Victor Cruz was not activated for the game.

Here are the inactives for the Giants today:

CB D.J. Johnson

FB Madison Hedgecock (hamstring)

LB Keith Bulluck (toe)

LB Phillip Dillard (hamstring)

C Shaun O'Hara (ankle/Achilles) -- Adam Koets gets his third straight start.
