Bennett: 'Not feeling the love' from Giants

Now that the Giants have locked up their biggest free-agent priority, Will Beatty, they can move on to some of their other free agents.

They'd love to sign tight end Martellus Bennett. But Bennett recently tweeted that he's "not feeling the love" from the Giants thus far.

"I dunno bro," Bennett tweeted Wednesday when asked about getting a deal done with the Giants soon. "Not feeling the love." He followed up by tweeting: "they have other priorities that come before little ole me. I'm just a small piece of what they're trying to do there." And then: "It's all business at the end of the day."

While the Giants do want Bennett back, they'd like to re-sign him at a reasonable price. Remember, this is a team that has had a bit of a revolving door at tight end with Kevin Boss and Jake Ballard manning the position in recent years.

Bennett is coming off his best season yet, with 55 receptions for 626 yards and five touchdowns -- all career highs.

It remains to be seen what the 26-year-old Bennett might command on the market. Bennett wants to remain a Giant and grow some more with Eli Manning. But he might want to see how much love he will receive as a free agent first.

"I've come to the conclusion that we are just temporary investments to the owners," Bennett tweeted. "Value money and growth over players."

He continued: "just like any business. Employees aren't as valuable as we use to be. Everyone needs a job. Lol"
