EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Osi Umenyiora participated on a limited basis on Thursday to rest an injury in his knee that he has dealt with throughout the year.
Umenyiora missed Wednesday's practice to deal with the same injury, which he's been doing for most of the season.
Umenyiora, who was honored with the NFL defensive player of the month award, did not address the injury when speaking to the media.
In the four games the Giants won last month, Umenyiora collected 7.0 sacks, six forced fumbles and 18 tackles.
Also, center Shaun O'Hara sat out of Thursday's practice.
O'Hara has now missed two straight practices with a mild Lisfranc sprain in his right foot and is unlikely to play in this Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Look for OL Adam Koets to play at center if O'Hara misses his fourth game. He missed the first three with ankle and Achillies injuries in his right foot.
OL Kareem McKenzie returned to practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday's session due to illness. FB Madison Hedgecock was either on the sideline or standing around on the indoor turf for most of the portion open to the media. Hedgecock has missed three straight games with a hamstring injury.
T William Beatty, sidelined since undergoing foot surgery after Week 1, rode the bike on the sideline. DE Dave Tollefson also sat out due to illness, according to Tom Coughlin.
