Practice report: The return of Prince

EAST RUTHERFORD. N.J. -- New York Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara was back on the field during the early portion of practice open to the media.

The cornerback went through tests on Thursday to seek clearance from a concussion suffered against Dallas in the season opener on Sunday night. He would have had to been cleared to be back on the practice field. Tom Coughlin said he was confident Amukamara can play against the Broncos with one good practice under his belt.

Coughlin will give the official word on whether Amukamara will play later today and the rundown on the rest of the injury report. David Diehl (thumb) was not practicing but doing stuff on the side. Center David Baas (knee) and defensive end Damontre Moore (shoulder) were on the field and doing work. Both were limited in Thursday's practice. Tight end Adrien Robinson (foot) was seen on the field but we'll have to see how much he did in practice when the injury report is released.

New depth chart: The Giants also released an updated depth chart with David Wilson listed as the starter at running back. However, it lists Da'Rel Scott as second string, Michael Cox as third string and Brandon Jacobs as other. Jacobs could potentially see some snaps in goal line and on passing downs.

Mark Herzlich is listed as the starting middle linebacker with Dan Connor now on IR. Mathias Kiwanuka is still listed ahead of Jason Pierre-Paul at defensive end.
