Lawrence Taylor is ready to sack Tom Coughlin.

The former Giants linebacker told the New York Post he believes it's time for the Giants to part ways with the two-time Super Bowl-winning coach.

"Tom Coughlin has done wonders for the Giants. Personally, I don't know if I could play for him, but the guy is a winner, he is a fighter. But I think it is time for him to take his talents on the road," Taylor said to the New York Post. "He's done all he can do for the Giants. If he wants to coach, I think he needs to take his philosophies to another team. After a while, the players just stop listening. I respect the man, but it's time. As much as I like Coughlin and the job he has done, it's time for a shakeup."

Coughlin, in his 10th year with the Giants, has led the Giants to the top of the NFL, but the team will miss the playoffs for the second straight season and the fourth time in five years. If the Giants are unable to beat the Seahawks on Sunday, they will have their first losing season under Coughlin since his first year in 2004. Over the past five seasons, the Giants are 41-36 in the regular season.

There is one year remaining on Coughlin's contract, and with the Giants preferring not to have their coaches enter their contract years as proverbial lame ducks, his future with the team will be one of the biggest headlines this offseason as the Giants aim to bounce back in 2014. Coughlin, 67, could retire, but he could also be signed to an extension that would likely take him to his final days as a coach.
