Good morning. On Thursday afternoon, New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese will be holding his annual pre-draft news conference. I will, of course, be attending on behalf of you, my faithful readers.
The news conference is ostensibly to discuss next week's draft, in which the Giants hold the No. 12 overall pick and six more after that. And surely there will be questions about the draft, the Giants' needs in it, the importance of having a good draft after a recent run of not-so-good ones, etc.
But this is also the first time Reese has taken questions since free agency opened, and as you know the Giants have signed more free agents this offseason than any other team in the NFL. So while I've never before attended Reese's pre-draft news conference and can't say for sure, I assume questions about the offseason activity to date also will be asked. If nothing else, such questions can be couched as draft-related questions, since surely the free agency activity has had some bearing on needs and plans for the draft.
Anyway, I have lots of questions, but I'm sure you do too, so here's what I'd like to do. I don't usually go into the comments section under my post (because it can get pretty ugly in there), but I'm going to make an exception this time. I'd like to know what questions you'd ask Reese if you were in the auditorium today at his news conference. Leave them here in the comments section and I'll check them out before I go. And if there are enough there to justify it, I'll do a post later today or tomorrow in which I give you Reese's answers to your specific questions.
Fire it up. Let's see what you've got. And I'll be back later with this and much more.
