Giants sign kicker Rhys Lloyd

The Giants have signed kickoff specialist Rhys Lloyd.

Lloyd has played for the Carolina Panthers since 2007, contributing on kickoffs.

He also was with the Ravens for two games in 2007. He’s yet to attempt a field goal in a regular-season game and averages 66.9 yards over his career on kickoffs. He also has 64 touchbacks in his career as well. The Giants waived/injured CB Woodny Turenne.

The Giants could have Lloyd serve as the kicker in next Monday night's game against the Bears with Lawrence Tynes nursing a bruised right thigh.

They brought in Shayne Graham for a visit but opted not to sign him.
