Giants linebacker Greg Jones has watched “a lot” of film on Frank Gore this week.
The rookie should get a chance to see Gore live and up close on Sunday.

A week after not playing much against the pass-happy Patriots, Jones should see plenty of snaps against the Niners, who rely heavily on the run.
Jones didn’t reveal much about the Giants’ game plan when speaking with reporters on Friday.
“No matter what I’m going to be ready,” he said.
But Tom Coughlin hinted that you’ll see plenty of Jones on Sunday.
“He hasn’t had many snaps because of the personnel that we have been facing the majority of the time but this is a regular personnel setup and he will have an opportunity to play more,” the coach said. “I think he is equipped and that is why he is in there.”
Added Perry Fewell: “You have to be able to stop the run. So we’re going to have to use all hands on deck.”
And Jones should be one of those deck hands.
The Michigan State alum started three of the Giants’ first four games and again in Week 8 against Miami -- each time playing significant snaps against a team with a sound ground game. On Sunday, he will try to help shore up a Giants run defense that ranks 24th in average yards per game (127.1).
“I’m just trying to get my mind ready for whatever happens,” he said.
