Giants lose RB Ware, DB Martin

The New York Giants lost running back D.J. Ware and defensive back Derrick Martin in the first half of Sunday night’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Chris Snee left the game due to cramps but returned in the second half.

Ware was ruled out due to a concussion. The running back took a viscous hit from Eagles defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins at the end of a 10-yard run after a reception.

Ware and Da’Rell Scott have both been active the last two weeks with starting running back Ahmad Bradshaw sidelined with a broken bone in his foot.

The fifth-year veteran entered play Sunday night with 102 yards on 30 carries. Henry Hynoski, a potential replacement for Ware, was ruled inactive prior to the game.

Defensive back and special teamer Martin left Sunday night's game with a hamstring injury. He appeared to injure it during Philadelphia WR DeSean Jackson’s 51-yard punt return in the second quarter. Martin will not return.

Tight end Jake Ballard also left early in the fourth quarter with an apparent elbow injury.

Ballard appeared to injure his elbow while using his arm to balance himself in the middle of a route. He stopped in the middle of the route in apparent pain. He was replaced by Bear Pascoe but later returned in the fourth quarter.
