Tom Coughlin isn't a guy who pays too much attention to the media. But, while "checking for scores" on television last week, he heard some football analysts' opinions of the then 3-6 Eagles.
He was surprised, to say the least.
"Some of the things that were being said about the Eagle team last week were ridiculous," Coughlin said on Monday. "With the talent level of that team, to be talking about them the way that people were. What do you think Vince Young was brought in for? So when Michael Vick gets hurt they can keep right on going with the same offense. Hello!"
Philadelphia did just that against Coughlin's Giants on Sunday night.
Young carved up the Giants defense on an 18-play, nearly nine-minute touchdown drive in the fourth quarter that gave the Eagles a 17-10 win. Philadelphia converted six third downs on the drive with Young throwing for four of them.
