Kenny Phillips' plan is to play on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.
Ultimately, the Giants' medical staff will have the final call.
Phillips missed practice for the second straight day on Thursday due to a sprained MCL.
He rode the bike during practice and did some running outside under the watch of team trainers.
"It was good to run again," Phillips said. "For the most part, it felt pretty good."
If Phillips can't play, Tyler Sash may replace him at safety.
There is no update on David Baas. Tom Coughlin said he is still undergoing tests to determine the exact nature of his headaches.
Mario Manningham practiced on a limited basis with a knee ailment. He expects to play on Sunday. He said prior to the New Orleans Saints game that he'd play but was ultimately forced to sit out due to a knee injury.
Both Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs missed practice Thursday. They are expected to practice Friday and play Sunday.
Jacobs missed practice with a hamstring injury. Bradshaw sat out to rest his foot. He fractured a bone in his foot Week 8 against Miami and returned for the first time in four weeks against the Packers last Sunday.
Bradshaw said he will sit out of practice Wednesday and Thursday and participate Friday as part of a normal routine.
"I have been on this routine for a while, which is not a good thing. But it keeps me healthy for the games," the running back said.
Dave Tollefson (knee) said he is fine and will play Sunday. He practiced on a limited basis on Thursday.
LB Michael Boley (hamstring), LB Mark Herzlich (ankle), LB Spencer Paysinger and Osi Umenyiora (knee/ankle) sat out.
Prince Amukamara (back) was limited.
