Kovalchuk to arrive Wednesday

Star winger Ilya Kovalchuk is expected to arrive Wednesday for his first day of Devils training camp.

Kovalchuk, 29, spent the lockout playing in his native Russia, racking up 18 goals and 24 assists in 36 games for SKA St. Petersburg. And although there was speculation that he was mulling whether to stay in Russia's Kontinental Hockey League after the lockout ended, he is indeed expected to honor his 15-year, $100 million contract with the Devils.

The Devils will hold a scrimmage with their AHL affiliate, the Albany Devils, at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
