Rangers home opener vs. Toronto

The New York Rangers will have their home opener on Oct. 27 against the Toronto Maple Leafs, according to the team's Twitter page. The team also tweeted that the full schedule will come out Thursday at 2 p.m.

The home opener follows news reported by The New York Times that the Rangers will play in the Winter Classic in Philadelphia on Jan. 2. This upcoming season's Winter Classic will mark the fifth time the game is played.

The Rangers will officially open their season internationally when they take on the Kings on Oct. 7 and the Ducks on Oct. 8 in Stockhom, Sweden. They will also play an exhibition game on Sept. 30 against goalie Henrik Lundqvist's former team, the Frolunda Inidans of the Swedish Elite League.
