Rangers come up short in NHL Awards

The NHL handed out its annual awards last night and to no one's surprise, no Ranger brought home any hardware. Let's take a look at where the Rangers finished in the voting in some of the categories. All vote totals are courtesy of Yahoo! Sports Puck Daddy blog.

Norris Trophy (top defenseman): Marc Staal, tied for 16th with one point

Frank Selke Trophy (forward with best defense): Ryan Callahan, 10th place with 51 points; Brandon Prust, tied for 17th with 14 points

Jack Adams Award (top coach): John Tortorella, ninth with nine points

Calder Memorial Trophy (top rookie): Derek Stepan, 13th with six points

Vezina Trophy (top goalie): Henrik Lundqvist, fourth with 23 points

Hart Trophy (MVP to his team): Henrik Lundqvist, tied for 14th with 19 points

None of these totals are that shocking. Lundqvist got the most love of any Ranger from the voters, as he should, but not enough to win the Vezina trophy. What do you think? Were the Rangers fairly treated, snubbed, overvalued? Feel free to leave comments in the section below.
