The Devils will have their first crack at the new-look Flyers when they take on Philadelphia in their season opener on Oct. 8 at the Prudential Center. New Jersey has now began its season at home four straight times.

The Flyers on Thursday sent shockwaves through the NHL when they traded Mike Richards and Jeff Carter for prospects and young talent, while inking Ilya Bryzgalov to a nine-year, $51 million contract extension.

The Devils and Flyers will also meet on Nov. 3, Jan. 21, Feb. 4, March 11 and March 13.

THE ROCK: New Jersey will kick off its 2011-12 season with three straight home games.

ROADTRIP!: The Devils' longest road trip of the season will take place from Nov. 15-21.

HUDSON RIVER RIVALRY: The Devils will take on the rival Rangers for the first time on Dec. 20.

COMING HOME: Manitoba native Travis Zajac and the rest of the Devils will travel to Winnipeg on Dec. 3.

BRINGING IN THE NEW YEAR: The Devils and Penguins will square off at the Rock on Dec. 31 at 1 p.m.

THIS IS THE END: The Devils wrap up the 2011-12 campaign against the Senators on April 7.
