The New York Rangers will play an exhibition game against HC Slovan in Bratislava, Slovakia at the SLOVNAFT Arena on Oct. 2, the NHL announced Wednesday. The game is part of the 2011 Compuware NHL Preimere Challenge and marks the fourth exhibition contest against a foreign team for the Blue Shirts.
The Rangers will also face HC Sparta Prague at TESLA Arena in Prague, Czech Republic on Sept. 29, the Frolunda Indians at the Scandinavium in Gothenburg, Sweden on Sept. 30 and EV Zug at Bossard Arena in Zug, Switzerland on Oct. 3.
"HC Slovan Bratislava is proud to welcome one of the classiest NHL organizations to our arena at the beginning of the new season," HC Slovan General Manager Maros Krajci said in a statement on NHL.com. "Next season is an historic one in Bratislava, as we celebrate the 90th anniversary of playing hockey in our city."
In addition to the four exhibition games, the Rangers will start their regular season internationally when they face the Kings on Oct. 7 and the Duck on Oct. 8 in Stockholm, Sweden at the Ericsson Globe Arena.
