Isles set 23-man roster

The Islanders have set their 23-man roster and it includes 2011 first-round draft pick Ryan Strome -- at least for now.

The Islanders have nine games to decide whether to keep him in the NHL or send him back to his junior team in the OHL; if Strome plays more than ten games, the 2011-12 season will automatically count as one year of eligibility on the three-year entry-level deal inked yesterday.

Also keep in mind that Nino Niederreiter, picked fifth overall by the Islanders in 2010, is starting the season on injured reserve (groin) so Strome could be sent back once he returns healthy.

Below is the team's roster:

Forwards: Josh Bailey, Blake Comeau, Michael Grabner, Matt Martin, Matt Moulson, Frans Nielsen, Kyle Okposo, Jay Pandolfo, PA Parenteau, Marty Reasoner, Brian Rolston, Ryan Strome and John Tavares

Defensemen: Mark Eaton, Travis Hamonic, Milan Jurcina, Andrew MacDonald, Mike Mottau, Steve Staios, and Mark Streit

Goaltenders: Rick DiPietro, Al Montoya, Evgeni Nabokov
