The same team that ended the Devils’ 2009-10 campaign will open the preseason slate, as New Jersey heads down I-95 to face the Philadelphia Flyers.
Veteran goalie Martin Brodeur will sit out -- as he usually doesn’t suit up for road games in the preseason -- but one player to watch for could be teenage center Jacob Josefson, whose short-handed goal in Monday’s scrimmage continued his string of strong training camp impressions. Head coach John MacLean wouldn’t confirm the prospect will make the trip to Philly, however.
