Islanders goaltender Evgeni Nabokov has been activated off injured reserve, the team announced Monday afternoon.
The 36-year-old netminder has not played since suffering a groin injury in the team's 4-3 win over Montreal November 17.
Since deciding to join the team in training camp -- Nabokov famously spurned the Islanders and refused to report last season after they claimed him off waivers -- Nabokov has recorded only one win in eight starts. He is 1-5-0 with a .910 save percentage and .283 goals against average.
Fourth-line bruiser Micheal Haley, held off the scoresheet in four games since being called up by the Islanders, has been returned to Bridgeport of the AHL.
