Rolston placed on waivers

Veteran forward Brian Rolston has been placed on waivers, the Islanders announced late Saturday morning.

The 38-year-old, acquired in a trade with New Jersey in August, has been limited to four goals and five assists in 49 games with the Islanders this season.

Rolston, who is on the last of a four-year, $20.25 million deal, went unclaimed after being placed on waivers twice by the Devils last season -- once on regular waivers, then a second time on re-entry waivers.

The Islanders have recalled Swedish center David Ullstrom from Bridgeport (AHL).
