Fresh start for Wolski in Florida

So far, so good for Wojtek Wolski, who was sent south Saturday by the Rangers in a trade to Florida.

The 25-year-old winger, who struggled to crack the Rangers' lineup since returning from sports hernia surgery last month, scored the game-tying goal for his new club in the Panthers 3-2 win over Carolina just hours after being dealt.

Wolski, who was acquired by the Panthers in exchange for a minor-league prospect and a third-round draft pick in 2013, was stopped in the shootout, but teammate Stephen Weiss tallied the deciding goal to complete Florida's comeback.

Rangers defenseman Michael Del Zotto is apparently fine after banging into the right goalpost during the third period of Saturday's 3-2 OT win against Buffalo.

The young blue-liner appeared to be in pain on the bench after tweaking his right hip, but, according to the team, is okay.

Defensive prospect Tim Erixon, whose name has surfaced as part of a potential package to bring Rick Nash to New York, was forced from the Connecticut Whale's 2-0 loss to Springfield Saturday night.

According to a Rangers spokesperson, Erixon suffered a neck strain and is day-to-day.
