Bouchard clears waivers, sent to Bridgeport

In a move designated to clear roster space for top prospect Ryan Strome, Pierre-Marc Bouchard has been sent to the team's minor-league affiliate in Bridgeport, CT (AHL).

Bouchard was waived Monday but had to clear waivers before being reassigned.

It does not appear as though Strome will be available in time for the Islanders' back-to-back match against San Jose Tuesday night, however. According to Newsday's Arthur Staple, the 20-year-old center, who has been ripping up the AHL of late, will meet the team in Phoenix, where they are scheduled to face the Coyotes on Thursday night.

The Islanders face a big, heavy, dominant Sharks team after dropping their tenth straight against Anaheim Monday night.
