The Jets, who expressed recent interest in former Dolphins SS Yeremiah Bell, are hosting him Monday on a visit, according to ProFootballTalk.com
Bell, 34, a full-time starter for the Dolphins, was dumped in a salary-cap move earlier in the offseason. He plays strong safety, the same position as recently-signed LaRon Landry. The Jets likely see Bell as a player that can improve their depth.
They have only two experienced safeties under contract, Landry and Eric Smith. The Jets could take a safety in the draft, perhaps Mark Barron (Alabama), if he slips to 16th.
They're also scheduled to visit Monday with former Raiders CB Chris Johnson.
