Cumberland suffered the injury when his hand collided with someone’s helmet during the Jets’ first kickoff return in Sunday’s 29-26 overtime loss to the New England Patriots.

The Jets (3-4) wrap up the first half of their season Sunday against the Miami Dolphins before getting their bye in Week 9. They then head to Seattle to face the Seahawks on Nov. 11.

Cumberland, 25, has 14 receptions for 143 yards and a touchdown for the Jets this season.

Jets coach Rex Ryan had no update on running back Joe McKnight. McKnight was seen in the locker room on crutches with a wrap on his left foot.

McKnight played through an ankle injury Sunday and had seven carries for 23 yards.

“He’s a tough kid, we all know it,” Ryan said.

Running back Shonn Greene (head), who left Sunday’s game briefly for an evaluation before returning late, said he feels “fine.”
