Darrelle Revis announced via his Twitter account that he will play Monday night when the Jets host the Vikings at the New Meadowlands.
“I’m playing against our former teammate,” tweeted Revis, who then named Vikings quarterback Brett Favre.
Revis has not played since the first half of a won over the Patriots in Week 2, when he further injured his left hamstring trying to cover wide reciever Randy Moss.
This week Moss was traded to the Vikings, meaning that Revis could be guarding Moss again in his return.
Revis had said he would not make the call on whether or not to play until after the full week of practice, saying he wanted to be 100 percent. The Jets did not confirm Revis’ tweet, saying that the Friday injury report is the last update they have made available. Other sources confirmed the tweet.
