Cablevision impasse

There are roughly 3 million Cablevision subscribers in the New York metropolitan area who will not be able to watch the Jets-Packers game on Sunday if the current impasse continues between Fox and the cable provider.

Jets coach Rex Ryan is aware of that his game might be blacked out. Cablevision has not carried World Series games or programs like "Glee" since the standoff began on Oct. 15.

"I'm hoping that we'll have our stadium full and they'll find ways to see the game," Ryan said.

Jets owner Woody Johnson released a statement on Oct. 27, in which he said he hoped Cablevision and Fox could put aside differences for the duration of the Jets game.

On Friday, Ryan joked that alternative didn't sound so bad.

"I'm not saying go to your local local establishment, but go to your local establishment. Hopefully they'll have the game on there, pound a couple of beers. I'm not responsible if they pound somebody wearing a Green Bay Packer deal. Remember, I am not responsible for somebody pounding a Green Bay Packer fan. OK, I just want to make sure that's been documented."
