Offensive tackle Damien Woody sat out the portion of Friday’s practice open to the media. He appeared on the field late in practice but was not wearing pads or a helmet. Woody is expected to play on Sunday against Miami. He will be matched up against Cameron Wake, who leads the NFL with 12 sacks. If Woody can’t play, Wayne Hunter will replace him on the line.
Woody also sat out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday with a sprained right MCL, an injury he originally suffered against the Texans on November 21. He has practiced on a limited basis but played in both games since.
Last week he missed the first day of practice and was limited for the rest of the week. So if he doesn’t practice at all this week, that could mean that he suffered a setback. We will update after we talk to Rex Ryan this afternoon.
James Ihedigbo (ankle, knee) did not practice and will not play on Sunday.
Also, the Jets worked inside for the second straight day.
