Brad Smith drawing interest from Bears

With Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards and Antonio Cromartie set to become free agents, all-purpose weapon Brad Smith has been overshadowed, but he'll start to get some love once free agency begins. Michael C. Wright of ESPNChicago.com is reporting that the Bears have interest in Smith, whose versatility is appealing. Imagine Smith and Devin Hester on the same team.

There also are rumblings that the Dolphins could get involved with Smith. The Dolphins' new offensive coordinator is Brian Daboll, who worked on Eric Mangini's staff in 2007 and 2008. That means he's familiar with Smith. Miami, of course, started the Wildcat craze, and it just so happens that the two backs used in the Wildcat -- Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams -- are free agents. Hmm.

Smith rushed for 299 yards last season (7.9 average), most of it out of the Wildcat formation.
