In a 35-second video clip to fans, and later in an automated call to season-ticket holders, the always reticent Rex Ryan (sorry, that's post-lockout humor) forecasted big things for the Jets and vowed a more pass-reliant offense in 2011. Interesting that he'd say that, considering he doesn't know who his receivers will be.
"I’m really exited to get back at this and the New York Jets are going to be ready and the best thing is, we get to prove it," Ryan said. "Believe me, we are ready to do it, we think we’ve helped our football team during this time, we took it as an opportunity to get better, and we believe we’ve accomplished that, and we think its going to be our year and we’ll find out soon enough."
Ryan added: "The ground and pound offense is ready to roll, (Mark) Sanchez is going into his third year. I can't wait to see his improvements and we’re going to let it fly a little more than we have in the past. We need you in those seats, let’s have at it."
