Jets owner Woody Johnson is likely to announce tomorrow morning that the team is heading back up to SUNY Cortland for training camp. The team’s official Twitter feed said that Johnson and Executive VP Matt Higgins will be on campus for the 10 a.m. press conference, coordinated through New York Governor David Patterson’s office.
Last year, the Jets moved training camp to Cortland just after completing a new training facility in Florham Park, N.J. The team had held training camp at Hofstra University on Long Island.
This year, the Jets' training camp will come with cameras from HBO's Hard Knocks series, since the team will be the subject of this year's episodes. It will increase the chaos level, and the lines at Doug's Fish Fry, but the town welcomed the Jets last season and coach Rex Ryan likes the seclusion the upstate locale provided.
Update: A source confirms that the announcement is indeed a return to Cortland.
