The first round of the draft is complete, and the pace will speed up in the second round: One pick every two minutes.
There were several players the Knicks really liked who are already gone: Craig Brackins of Iowa State was taken at No. 21 by the Thunder and is being traded to New Orleans; Damion James of Texas went at No. 24 to the Hawks (and is being traded to the Nets); South Florida shooting guard Dominique Jones went No. 25 to Memphis (ESPN colleague Marc Stein is reporting that pick has been sold to Dallas), and Marquette forward Lazar Hayward went No. 30 to Washington and is being traded to Minnesota. I had listed all of them as Knicks possibilities in my Knicks draft preview.
Second-guessing whether I should have pumped up Derrick Caracter of UTEP. At least I'd still have a horse in this race. Stay tuned.
