Great quote from Carmelo Anthony after he scored 33 points (21 in the 1st quarter) against the Nets:
"I don't think I've felt like this in a while, just feeling good about myself, feeling good about my body, where I'm at physically, where I'm at mentally," he said. "Everything is clear. I have a lot of clarity right now. Everything is just fun, being out there with the guys playing basketball games."
It sure looks like Anthony's having fun.
Just take a look at his numbers in April.
He's scoring 32.2 points per game (two 40-point games) and is hitting nearly 47 percent of his threes this month. The Knicks are 6-3 in that span.
With Jeremy Lin and Amare Stoudemire out, Anthony has played 38 minutes a game, topping 40 minutes in five of the Knicks' nine games this month.
He's making a strong case for Player of the Month.
“I expect him to continue to play like that,” Knicks coach Mike Woodson said after the Nets game. “He’s not only playing well but he’s making the guys around him play better as well. That’s the sign of a great player in our league, and I’m happy for Melo because there was a lot of heat on him when he came to New York and it’s nice to see the benefits of playing well in New York.”
