Clippers All-Star point guard Chris Paul suffered a mild left groin strain in Tuesday's loss to Hawks, and is questionable to play against the Knicks Wednesday night.
Not only does tonight's game have significance for the Knicks -- if they win they would potentially still be in play for the sixth seed -- but also the Clippers are treating their regular-season finale as a must-win.
While they are currently the fourth seed in the West, a win tonight would look up that positioning and give them home-court advantage in the first round against the Grizzlies. If they lose, a Grizzlies win over the Magic Thursday night would mean they would get that advantage to start the playoffs.
After Knicks' practice on Tuesday, Paul's close friend, Carmelo Anthony, was asked about CP3's future in LA after next sesaon, in which he would become an unrestricted free agent.
"He seems happy out there, but I don't know," Melo said. "I don't think that he would want to leave after all the stuff that he's been through. He seems happy, he looks happy out there, they're winning and they're a playoff team."
