Opening Tip: Better or worse w/out Amare?

Every weekday throughout the season, ESPNNewYork.com will tackle a burning question about the Knicks in our "Opening Tip" segment.

Today's Burning Question: Will the Knicks be better or worse without Amare Stoudemire in Game 3?

With Stoudemire out for Game 3, it should allow Carmelo Anthony more room to operate. According to this Insider piece by Neil Paine of Basketball reference, that's a good thing.

Paine writes, "New York was merely an average team (at best) when Stoudemire suited up this season, but without him they've played like a plus-7.5 team per 100 possessions. By comparison, the 2012 Heat have only been a plus-6.7 team after adjusting for opponent quality -- meaning the Knicks go from being 6.7 pts/100 worse than Miami with Stoudemire in the lineup to 0.9 pts/100 better than Miami without him."

Do you think that will hold true on Thursday? Will the Knicks be better off without Amare? Or will they miss his presence?
