Amare Stoudemire has been in Houston working with Hakeem Olajuwon for the past five days.
On Thursday, he provided a glimpse into his workouts with the Hall of Famer.
In a video released via Stoudemire's YouTube channel, the Knicks big man also explained why he decided to work with Olajuwon.
"I'm doing it for my fans in New York who've been sticking with me from a tough year last year," Stoudemire says. "I can't wait to bounce back next season and give it all I got and try to bring a championship (to New York)."
It's good to see Stoudemire getting the chance to work with one of the NBA's greats. Just how much Stoudemire can pick up during Olajuwon's two-week camp remains to be seen.
But the mere fact that he is getting a chance to work out in the offseason is a step in the right direction.
Last summer, Stoudemire wasn't able to get on the court due to a back injury suffered in the Knicks' first-round loss to the Celtics. The injury prohibited Stoudemire from playing 5-on-5 for six months.
Instead of spending time on the basketball court, Stoudemire had to dedicate most of his offseason to rehabbing his pulled back muscle.
Stoudemire added approximately 15 pounds of muscle during rehabilitation and that appeared to rob him of some explosiveness during the season.
JOKING ON JEREMY: Stoudemire took a playful jab at ex-teammate Jeremy Lin at the end of his video. "Houston's a beautiful city. I'm trying to find Jeremy Lin, he's nowhere to be found," Stoudemire said with a laugh.
MORE: Before Stoudemire released that video, Travis King, a member of Stoudemire's management group and his longtime training adviser, was providing some video and a few photos.
