Report: Harrellson to work out for the Heat

This was back in the 2011-12 preseason, after the Knicks home exhibition against the Nets.

Josh Harrellson and Amare Stoudemire were getting dressed in the Knicks locker room, when someone brought up the subject of hunting to Harrellson, an avid gamesman.

Harrellson then asked Stoudemire where they were going hunting during the coming season.

Stoudemire replied, 'South Beach.'

A half-amused, half-confused Harrellson asked Stoudemire, 'What can we hunt in South Beach?'

Stoudemire replied, 'We're hunting D-Wade and LeBron.'

Now, it appears that Harrellson may be joining the Heat duo.

On Sunday, Harrellson tweeted, "Kentucky it's been fun! Glad I got to see everyone! Now heading to Miami for hopefully the next 9 months."

The Sun Sentinel reported that Harrellson will be in Miami for a second workout and is 'in the mix' for a roster spot.

Harrellson averaged 4.4 points per game and 3.9 rebounds for the Knicks in his rookie season. He was a rotation player for Mike D'Antoni before missing about six weeks with a wrist injury.

Harrellson was traded to the Houston Rockets this summer in the sign-and-trade transaction that brought Marcus Camby to New York. He was then cut by Houston to create a roster spot for Carlos Delfino.
