Carnegie Deli creates the Carmelo Anthony sandwich

Carmelo Anthonytouched down in the Big Apple late Tuesday night but his "Welcome to New York" moment occurred hours earlier.

On Tuesday afternoon, the renowned Carnegie Deli created the Carmelo Anthony sandwich to honor the newest Knick, according to dnainfo.com.

The web site reports that the Carmelo contains corned beef, pastrami, salami, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and Russian dressing on rye bread.

Each ingredient is Melo related, according to deli owner Sandy Levine.

Levine told dnainfo.com that the Russian dressing is a dig at Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov, whose team came up short in its pursuit of Anthony.

The massive sandwich reportedly costs $21.95. If you multiply the price by three, you get a little over$65, which is the number in millions that the Knicks will pay Anthony.
