Though the Knicks won on Saturday, improving to 30-15, the Heat's victory over the Raptors on Sunday made Miami's Erik Spoelstra -- not New York's Mike Woodson -- the head coach of the Eastern Conference All-Star team.
Miami is 30-14, a half-game better than the Knicks.
Woodson would've been the Knicks' first All-Star coach since Jeff Van Gundy in 2000.
Woodson has plans to travel to a warm-weather city during the break, but Tyson Chandler had hoped his coach's itinerary would land him in Houston, site of All-Star Weekend (Feb. 15-17).
"He can find a golf course in Houston," Chandler said.
The Knicks could have as many as four players representing the team during All-Star Weekend. Chandler and Carmelo Anthony are on the East squad, Steve Novak is a candidate for the 3-point shootout and James White could be in the dunk contest.
The All-Star Saturday Night participants will be decided by the NBA and announced Thursday. According to reports, East captain Dwyane Wade has already recommended Novak and White.
