NEW YORK -- Knicks fans briefly chanted "M-V-P" for Amare Stoudemire as he attempted two foul shots in the fourth quarter of his worst game as a Knick, one in which both he and his coach said he was exhausted.
Folks, that ship has sailed.
And you know what else is overstated? All the doomsday talk. At least that is my take in tonight's post-game column.
Outside the visiting locker room tonight, Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said of the MVP race: "It's over."
He believes Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls is going to win it in a runaway, and I tend to agree with him. I'll also add that the Coach of the Year race is a two-man battle betweem Tom Thibodeau of the Bulls and Gregg Popovich of the San Antonio Spurs, with Doug Collins of Philadelphia a virtual lock for third.
