Woodson: Amar'e won't start in Detroit

Apparently, Mike Woodson still isn't on the "Start STAT" bandwagon.

Woodson, according to reports from those in Detroit with the Knicks, said Stoudemire will not start against the Pistons.

Some had speculated that Stoudemire would be in the starting lineup if Carmelo Anthony (fluid buildup in knee) did not play Wednesday night. But Woodson reportedly has settled on a starting five of Raymond Felton, Iman Shumpert, James White, Kurt Thomas and Tyson Chandler -- a lineup with little offensive firepower -- if Anthony is out.

Woodson said Stoudemire, who is playing on a 30-minute restriction, would be in the game early against Detroit.

Woodson played Stoudemire 32 minutes in a comeback win over Cleveland, leaning on him after Anthony went down with a knee injury. But the coach has said his preference is to keep Stoudemire under the 30-minute mark.
