Opening Tip: How optimistic are you?

Every weekday throughout the season, ESPNNewYork.com will tackle a burning question about the Knicks in our "Opening Tip" segment.

Today's Burning Question: How has the Knicks' recent six-game winning streak changed your expectations for this team?

The Knicks will wake up Thursday morning 18 games over .500. Why is this significant?

New York hasn't been 18 games over .500 since the end of the 1999-2000 season. That's also the season the Knicks last won a playoff series.

So there is plenty of reason to be optimistic about this team.

But how optimistic are you?

If we asked you this question on the morning of March 18, chances are your answer would be quite different than it is this morning. That morning, the Knicks appeared to be in a free fall. They'd lost four in a row and were playing in Utah without Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler.

Thanks in part to a gusty performance by Kurt Thomas, the Knicks pulled out a win in Utah and haven't lost since.

So, what are your expectations for the Knicks as they enter the stretch run of the season? Do you think they can get a favorable matchup in the first round and win a playoff series? Or will they run up against a hot team or a tough matchup (Chicago?) and bow out in the first round?

What about the second round? Do they have enough to get by a potentially tough matchup with Indiana in Round 2? Can they win if they don't have home court advantage in the second round?

What about, gulp, Miami?

QUESTION: How have your expectations for this Knicks team changed after their six-game winning streak? How far do you think they can go in the postseason?
