Apparently J.R. Smith is pretty confident the Knicks will win the NBA title this season.
Two weeks after saying on Twitter that anything less than a title in 2013-14 is a "waste" for the Knicks, Smith reportedly "guaranteed" that the Knicks will win a title.
In a question-and-answer session with children from the New York/New Jersey Boys & Girls Clubs attending a PGA Foundation golf clinic at Chelsea Piers, Smith said he was "100 percent" sure that the Knicks would win it all this year, according to the New York Post.
The Knicks, by the way, haven't won a title in 40 years.
Smith also stirred things up between the Knicks and Nets when he told ESPN New York on Saturday that new Net Paul Pierce is "bitter" and Pierce's remarks that New York will eventually be a Nets town will "have consequences."
Nets reserve big man Reggie Evans doesn’t think much of Smith’s championship guarantee.
Responding to a tweet with a link to an article about Smith’s guarantee, Evans tweeted, “lol.”
