Reports: J.R. Smith to start for Knicks

Reigning NBA Sixth Man Award winner J.R. Smith will start at shooting guard for the New York Knicks against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, according to published reports.

The Knicks (2-4) will start Smith and point guard Raymond Felton in the backcourt alongside Iman Shumpert, Carmelo Anthony and Andrea Bargnani on the front line. Coach Mike Woodson said Tuesday that he was considering a lineup shake-up to jump-start the Knicks, who have trailed by double digits in the first quarter of three of their past four games.

Smith will take Pablo Prigioni's place in the starting lineup. An interesting wrinkle to the Knicks' lineup shuffle is the team's trade discussions with the Denver Nuggets over a Kenneth Faried-for-Shumpert swap.
