Woody: Shumpert looked 'totally lost'

Mike Woodson said he planned on talking to Iman Shumpert on Tuesday after seeing the swingman struggle at Portland.

Shumpert had no points, no rebounds, no assists, one steal, two turnovers and three fouls in 23 minutes. He missed all three of his shots from the field.

Could Shumpert's struggles be coming from the possibility of him being traded?

"I don’t know," Woodson said when asked about Shumpert on "The Stephen A. Smith and Ryan Ruocco Show" on ESPN New York 98.7 FM. "I thought he rebounded from that ... prior to last night's game, I thought he had been playing pretty well. Last night, there was nothing.

"I am going to have a conversation with him as well," Woodson added. "Why that is? I don’t know. He just looked totally lost last night. And that can't be."

In Shumpert's past nine games, he has scored in double figures just twice. In the past three games, Shumpert has scored a total of 10 points and shot a combined 3-for-13.

Shumpert isn't the only Knick to struggle. J.R. Smith went 2-for-8 with six points and five fouls against Portland.

"I can't have him and J.R. playing bad basketball for our ballclub and expect to win," Woodson said. "Right now, they both are struggling."
